The Deck of Cats

This deck was many months in production. The initial artwork and concept for each card was generated using the two leading AI imaging tools (at the time anyway): Midjourney and Krea. The artwork for each card was then edited and refined using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and finally assembled and completed in Adobe InDesign.
At the time of writing, there’s been some backlash against AI image generation in the creative sector – understandably as it’s been a very disruptive and challenging technology – upending norms of ‘ownership’ and threatening copyright and moral rights normally attributed to the artist. Indeed, who is the artist in this case?
There’s no easy answer but for us, AI has been an incredibly creative and exciting technology that has made it possible to explore digital media in an entirely new way. Regardless, we had a lot of fun producing these cards and we hope that comes across as you play with them.
